Appointment of Chairman

Minutes:

*           Resolved that Councillor Bowden be appointed as Chairman for this meeting of the Committee.

 

Councillor Bowden here took the Chair.

Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

Apologies for absence were received from Councillors J Banks, J Jackson, Lynch, Mussell, Robinson and Seddon.

*           Resolved that the minutes of the meeting held on 6 November 2014, be approved and signed.

12.

Income and Expenditure Projection - Year Ending 31 March 2015

Minutes:

The Management Accountant presented the Income and Expenditure Account for the Year Ending 31 March 2014, outlining the foundations fund’s current position and updating the Committee on the awards claimed for the 2014/15 academic year.

*           Resolved that the report be noted.

13.

Applications for Financial Assistance

Minutes:

Members raised concerns regarding the low number of applications for assistance which had been received and queried if the number of applications received over the years had decreased.

The Management Accountant advised the Committee that the Sixth Forms and Colleges in the borough and the Service Manager in the Children and Young Peoples Department had been contacted and informed of the opportunity for students and application process.

The Management Accountant presented the applications to Members.

*           Resolved that:

 

(1)          A report on the number of applications received by year be brought to the next meeting of this Committee for consideration and discussion by the Committee; and

(2)                The applications be dealt with as outlined below:

14.

Sarah Cowley Memorial Exhibition

Minutes:

The Management Accountant circulated a leaflet, which advised Members on the Cowley Schools Memorial Exhibition taking place at the World of Glass on 17 January 2015 to 13 March 2015 and events that had been held and scheduled to mark the 300 year Memorial Celebrations of Sarah Cowley.

 

*           Resolved that:

(1)        the correspondence be noted; and

(2)        the Chair write on behalf of the Committee a letter of thanks to those involved in the Memorial Project.
